Muslims?!
This gallery is the online representation of my body of work entitled Muslims?! I have photographed Canadian Muslims engaged in the ordinary and not so ordinary activities that are part of their daily lives. This exhibition illustrates that any label can only at best define a small part of a person’s identity, and seeks to break down stereotypes held by both Muslims and non-Muslims about what it means to be a Canadian Muslim.

Having grown up in Montreal, I have often taken guests St. Joseph’s Oratory and observed people light candles in prayer. This photograph was taken at a Muslim Saint’s shrine in Lahore, Pakistan where I was struck by the similarity of the candle lighting ritual across religions.
