Muslims?!, May 1st to June 3rd, 2012 Campbell House Museum 160 Queen Street West, Toronto, ON 416 597 0227 www.campbellhousemuseum.com Opening Reception Thursday May 3rd, 5pm to 9pmONGOING PROJECT
I'm looking for people who self identify as being Muslim to participate in a photography project that I'm working on that can be described as follows: Despite differences that exist between people and cultures, Muslims?! illustrates that all people share the same emotions and are connected by an underlying humanity. Rehman has photographed Canadian Muslims engaged in both the ordinary and extraordinary activities that are part of their daily lives. He shows that any label can only at best define a part of a person’s identity, as he seeks to break down stereotypes about what it means to be a Canadian Muslim." Please let me know if you would like to participate as a subject in my project. It would be totally up to you how I would photograph you. My only guideline is that the photograph expresses ' the ordinary and/or extraordinary in your daily life'. I typically shoot on location. The following is a link to an interview I did in the summer of 2011 for my first Muslims?! exhibition (http://www.cbc.ca/intownandout/2011/07/09/muslims/) For more information about my work, to inquire about pricing, to order photographs, or talk about life and the world we live in, please contact me at: asifrehmanphotography@gmail.com www.asifrehman.com
